The lakes are sailable but it’s best in small boats.


Cross Country Skiing

The lakes are open for cross country skiing but there are no groomed trails.


Ice Fishing

Ice Fishing is available and great but currently there are no rental fish houses.



The Chisago Lakes is a great place for snowmobiling.  All our lakes are connected to miles of trails.  For information about snowmobiling in Chisago Lakes visit the Wild River Snowmobile Club website at



Snowshoeing is available anywhere but the best places are the local wilderness parks.  Check these out for favorite spots;

Ojiketa Regional Park in Chisago City, 90 acres with 2 miles of trails

Allemansrätt Park in Lindstrom, 125 acres with over 3 miles of trails

Kichisaga Park in Lindstrom, 90 acres with 2 miles of trails

Chisago Lakes Water Trail-the entire water trail is available for snowshoeing during the winter.


Winter Camping

Winter camping is available anywhere on the lake portion of the trail.  A year round bathroom is available at Lindstrom Beach and Allemansrätt Park in Lindstrom.

Additionally, you can winter camp at:

Allemansrätt Park in Lindstrom, 2 campsites and a bathroom.
